The learning objectives are the minimum required content of the Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injury course. The student will learn the definition of a brain injury as well as the broader term of Acquired brain injury. They shall be able to describe a Non-traumatic brain injury and compare with a traumatic injury. We will discuss leading causes of brain injury and examine assorted cases. The students will be able to differentiate populations with brain injury risk. They shall learn the various health issues associated with a brain injury that a first responder will come in contact. We will discuss preventing brain injuries. Target Population: Peace Officers, Jailers, Telecommunicators, and Law Enforcement Personnel.
